Augusta Westland Chopper Scam

The Bharatiya Janata Party today said that the Congress is trying to project the Augusta Westland VVIP chopper scam as August revolution, adding that it won’t get any political benefit from doing so.

The Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that Congress is actually terrorized and that is why they are projecting the Augusta scam as Augusta revolution. Naqvi also added that the Congress is restless and thus they are talking rubbish. They are trying to project a scam as a revolution in such a way that the leaders are sitting in dharna, doing Satyagraha. According to him, “ This is not a freedom fight but a campaign that is going on in regard to corruption and scam”.

Sarcastically he said that as it is all about corruption, the law should be allowed to work independently and that the innocents should not be worried. However, the guilty always are. Naqvi further stated that the middlemen are becoming restless and the brokers are being terrorized, which is a clear sign that the fearless brokers are very much worried.

The investigation is still on and Tyagi, who is former Air Force chief, is being questioned by the C.B.I. apart from him, his brothers who are Sanjeev, Rajeev and Sandeep are also under the legal check.

Last week earlier, the Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar attacked various top Congress leaders regarding their involvement in the VVIP Chopper Scam, without taking the names. He clearly stated that while the UPA government should have taken action, they took a longer route of writing to the embassy regarding the Chopper deal. He said that the government probe will take actions against all those whose names are involved in the scam.
