Audi, the name is enough to make us aware of the class and style. Now Audi A8 has been slated for a 2017 launch, is expected to come with significant design upgrades in 2018. The new Audi A8 is from the D5 generation and has been built on the company’s latest MLB2 platform that currently underpins the current-gen Audi A4. In 2017 Audi A5 Coupe and Audi S5 Coupe will be arrived in May, though the Audi S5 has already arrived in India. A8, the fourth generation, is the first model to be styled under Marc Lichte. Audi’s MLB Evo platform, which is an enhancement of the MLB platform found in the current A8 and few other Volkswagen Group models. The primary engine will be same as A8’s meaning V-6 and V-8 units. Some models mainly diesel ones, are likely to feature an electric compressor. Though it is still not clear whether diesel will be offered in the United States only or not.
Started the first public road trials of its next-generation A8 and it have already been seen test driving in Austria and southern Germany. Now it is a longer model with a Lower Roofline. If that is great, then there are more! Audi A8 will be able to handle parking situations as well as driving in traffic at speeds of up to 37 mph because of its new feature called Traffic Jam Pilot.
The features of the next generation Audi A8 is not revealed; clearly, it will be the first one capable of handling full autonomous mode. Apart from this, the car will be available with infotainment system with gesture control and new lighting technologies including organic LEDs in the taillights. 2018 Audi A8 is expected to have the capacity of 6.0- litre and W12 along with Bi-Turbo engine churning out about 600bhp and a peak torque of 900Nm, which currently does duty on the newly launched Bentley Bentayga.
