Last year, Asus’s ZenWatch 2 was a great and affordable Android Wearable device. This year, Asus is back with the ZenWatch 3, and it is addressing the pathetic battery life problems which have plagued android smartwatch users since the inception of wearable in the market.

Display and Design:
Asus ZenWatch 3 with a 1.39-inch AMOLED display with 400×400 resolution and 287 ppi pixel density circular display has been announced at IFA 2016. Asus has finally decided to do away with the rectangular design for the smartwatch, in favour of a conventional circular smartwatch. The stainless steel watch has a three button design of the watch is said to give the user a more intuitive experience. The smartwatches are hand finished and the wristbands on the watches are made from Italian leather. The company also claims that the watch features cold forged craftsmanship which makes the device a comparative 82% stronger than other wearables. The ZenWatch 3 is IP67 water resistant. The best part is that Asus managed to keep the ZenWatch 3 relatively slim, at 9.95mm thick. That’s a little bit thinner than the Apple Watch and should feel much thinner than the Huawei Watch.
Under the hood:
The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor (which promises a 25 percent efficiency boost), running on Android Wear OS 2.0. The watch also features 512MB RAM, with 4GB internal storage. The display on the device support 2-finger touch. The watch also features an ambient light sensor and a 6-Axis Gyro. The battery on the device is 340 mAh. An additional feature is what Asus is calling ‘Hypercharge’ which ensures 60 percent of battery getting charged in 15 minutes of plugged-in charging. It will also feature Bluetooth 4.1 and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The Asus Zenwatch 3 is available in Gunmetal, Silver and Rose Gold coloured variants and will be available at a price of €229 (Approximately Rs. 17,000) and will be available on online E-commerce platforms like Amazon.
