The Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has repeatedly got entangled into controversies. Be it that of raising second highest party funds in India, or getting into clash with the party members itself. Controversies have never left him. But, the muffler man today did something that turned the heads of the politicians round. Delhi has always been considered to be an unsafe place for girls. The nation saw a widespread movement of protest in the capital after the gang rape of Nirbhaya. The government was accused of not taking steps followed by the downfall of the Sheila Dixit government.
Arvind Kejriwal today met the 13 year old girl who was brutally raped and admitted to AIIMS. The girl was brutally raped and dumped near a railway track in South-east Delhi’s Pul Prahladpur area allegedly by a teenager who lives in her neighborhood. The girl is an orphan and mentally challenged. So, Human rights Commission may also interfere in this. She went missing on May 17, and a search operation was conducted but she could not be found. In the wee hours of May 18, locals spotted the girl lying unconscious near the railway track. The locals who found him informed the police after finding her.
He assured the girl that full statehood would be provided to the girl. “Delhi is not a full state as a result of which such problems are coming up repeatedly. Every crime incident reminds that somehow law and order should be under democratic control so that the law enforcement agencies and public could work together,” he said.
He assured that strict steps will be taken as soon as possible to prevent these incidents. The frequency of these according to Kejriwal has been increasing day by day. So, he said that in order to provide full security to the women of Delhi he will meet Rajnath Singh, the Union Minister and conduct a meeting on this issue. Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwalalso met the girl and issued notice to the Pul Prahladpur Police Stationand seeked to know that why was the commission not informed about the incident before.
