Anna: Kisan Baburao Hazare is an upcoming Indian biographical film that will be releasing tomorrow on 14th October is a noble step in Indian cinema that comes to a life of a man of iron determination. Anna an Indian social activist who led movements to promote rural development, increase government transparency, and investigate and punish corruption in public life. Kisan Baburao Hazare fondly known as “Anna Hazare”. The movie is based on his fast against corruption.

Anna: Kisan Baburao Hazare (2016) Plot

In the early 2000, Anna Hazare started a movement in Maharashtra state to force the state government to enact a revised Maharashtra Right to Information Act. This Act was later considered as the base document for the Right to Information Act 2005 (RTI), enacted by the Union Government. It also ensured that the President of India assented to this new Act. But on 20th July 2006, the Union Cabinet revised the Right to Information Act 2005 to exclude the file by the government officials from its purview. Hazare began his fast unto death on 9 August 2006 in Alandi against the proposed amendment. He ended his fast on 19 August 2006, after the government agreed to change its earlier decision. Hazare participated in the Satyagraha movement campaigning for the passing an anti-corruption Lokpal bill known as Jan Lokpal Bill. The issue became a huge movement against corruption in India, and almost the entire country participated with Anna. He fasted for 98 hours at a stretch. The movie is based on this issue, and that keeps the character of Anna and his determination on focus.

The movie has a socialist flavour and something that is more than just simple moneymaking method. Anna’s life and his love for his country are the main targets of the movie. The trailer is powerful and the man himself promote it. It will be good to see how the audience, react to its release. Shashank Udapurkar has written, directed and acted the lead role in this movie. With some serious aconcerning political issue the movie is something the country needs now.
