With two more finale episodes of the fifth season of the Basketball Wives L.A still expected in September, fans of scandalous reality series are very curious to find out whether the American reality show will be back for a sixth season or not. The Los Angeles-based spin-off of Basketball Wives was renewed for a fifth season, which premiered on July 17, 2016 and featured Jackie Christie, Malaysia Pargo, Brandi Maxiell, Shaunie O’Neal, Tami Roman, Angel Brinks, LaTosha Duffey and Angel Love.
While the original show of Basketball Wives was cancelled after the fifth season, there is no word yet whether the Los Angeles version will continue on for a sixth season or get cancelled. The reality television series that revolves around the lives of a group of women who are the wives and girlfriends, or have been romantically linked to, professional basketball players in the National Basketball Association features really bad-mouthed females and gives an ultimate feeling of really rustic reality television approach.
Through five seasons the viewership averages two million people. Season 4 of “Basketball Wives: L.A” has made VH1 the #1 cable network on average in the Sunday 9PM time period with Women aged between 18-34. Besides, the series has generally favourable television ratings. Currently, according to IMDB, Basketball Wives L.A has a score of 4.1 out of 10 based on 210 user votes. Such score is quite reasonable for the scandalous, provocative and questionable show.
As for new there is only speculation about a possible season 6 of this verbally gruesome show but there is definitely mixed expectations from the American audience and only time will tell whether the show will go on or not after the remainder of Season 5 episodes are aired on VH1.
With a possible Season 6 comes the confirmed possibility of intense scandals, catfights and back-bitching from a group of insanely short-tempered wives.
No wonder the original was cancelled.
The VH1 reality TV series has gone on a break and will air its latest instalment, Season 5 episode 9, on Sunday, Sept. 11.
