Earlier it was speculated that he left the show in support of Sunil Grover. The actor revealed that it wasn’t the case and he left the show in respect of creative differences with Kapil Sharma. Asgar said that he saw no growth in his character as Naani on the show and that there was no room for improvement which caused him to take a step back from the show. While many controversies had surrounded the Kapil Sharma Show after the mid-air fight between Sunil Grover and Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover’s abandonment of the show, Ali had kept quiet about his reasons to leave the show. Ali Asgar is now set to feature in a special feature of Sunil Grover’s show Supernight with Tubelight which will also feature actor Salman Khan for the promotion of his upcoming film Tubelight which is set to hit the screens on Eid. Asgar says that he holds no grudges against Kapil Sharma and that he got to learn a lot from the host. He adds that the reason of his quit from the show was purely professional stagnation and had nothing personal to do with Kapil Sharma himself. He adds that he misses the show, the crew, and the stage but what happened was unfortunate and should not have happened in reference to the fight between Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover. Asgar is set to feature his voice in the dubbed version of Despicable Me 3 with a Punjabi accent. He hopes that his voice as a male would be appreciated by the audience after about 4 years of dubbing his own voice as a female. He adds that it was a difficult task and took him seven days to dub the voice in Despicable Me 3.
