Alcatel Idol 4 and Alcatel VR Headset Launched in India at Rs.16,999, Available On Flipkart

Alcatel unveiled its smartphones Idol 4 and Idol 4s at its pre-MWC 2016 event earlier this year. Now the company has finally launched Alcatel Idol 4 smartphone in India which is slated to be available from 2 PM onwards on Flipkart at a price of Rs.16,999. The smartphone has been made available by the company in Dark Grey, Metal Silver, and Gold colour variants. In Accompaniment to this latest smartphone, Alcatel also launched a new VR headset that allows users to get an immersive experience using the smartphone’s display. The company has also bundled JBL earphones in the box.

One of the unique features of Alcatel Idol 4 is the boom key, which is located on the right side of the deviceand allows users to get access to camera, gallery, videos, games and other applications. A smartphone which can more or less be pegged to be specifically targeted at music enthusiasts, the Alcatel Idol 4comes with dual stereo speakers (2 x 3.6W) powered by ‘Waves’ technology along with Smart PA for amplifying audio.

The Alcatel Idol 4 Sports a 5.2-inch full HD (19201080 pixels) IPS display with 2D glass on top. It runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out-of-the-box and is powered Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor with Adreno 405 GPU and 3GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with 16GB onboard storageand supports expandable storage up to 512GB via microSD.

The device measures 147×72.5×7.1mm and weighs 135 grams.

Alcatel Idol 4: Camera Specifications

The Alcatel Idol 4 sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, EIS and dual-LED flash. Up front is an 8-megapixel camera with flash for selfie-taking and video calling purposes. The smartphone also comes preloaded with a real-time face beautification mode.

Alcatel Idol 4: Battery and Connectivity Specifications

The Idol 4houses a 2610mAh battery, and further comes with support for Quick Charge version 2.0. Connectivity options in the device include4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, USB OTG, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
