Akshay Kumar is one of those men in Bollywood who has a philanthropic mind, but he never flaunts it. Comes in the social media with some serious issues to motivate or aware the society, Akshay has always done his part of duty as a responsible citizen. Even he chooses movies that has a certain aspect of social responsibility or patriotic values. He has even donated money before to the Jawan’s family, and the drought suffered farmers.
Now he has again shown his generous side by donating Rs 1.08 crore to the families of twelve jawans. The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans who were from 219 battalion and were killed in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district, when the armed Naxal group attacked them. TOI reports that the actor contacted IPS officer Amit Lodha, DIG of Jaisalmer sector north and asked for the details of the deceased jawan’s family. Akshay then donated Rs 9 lakh each to families of the martyred jawans.
DIG Lodha told that “Akshay himself has been in touch with me and he keeps enquiring about incidents and when I told him about the Sukma incident he immediately told me he would like to contribute and do his bit for the families of the martyred jawans…”
It is true that where most of the celebrities use charity as a medium to promote themselves or their upcoming movies, Akshay is someone who prefers being silent about it. We never hear any kind of propaganda for his charity from his side. He even inspires the nation to take part in it and to do their bit to support the family of those who stay awake each night to give us peaceful sleep.
Currently, the actor is too busy with some very interesting projects. While his wife Twinkle’s upcoming project Padman has gone on the floor and he has already signed Mogul, where he will play the role of Gulshan Kumar. Naam Shabana is set to release this month, where Robot 2 and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha are also on the line of release.
