Some reports suggest that the versatile actor Ajay Devgan is all set to make a 3-D film in the epic battle of Saragarhi which was fought between British Indian Army and Afghan Orakzai tribesmen in the North-West Frontier Province. The story is about the heroic battle of the twenty one Sikhs of the British Indian contingent who bravely fought against ten thousand Afghans. Ajay Devgan is playing the role of Havildar Ishar Sing, the leader of the Sikh regiment force at Saragarhi, who chose to fight to death and is considered as one of the greatest last men stand fight in the history of war.
The title of the film is “Son of Sardaar: The Battle of Saragarhi”. Ajay Devgan’s own company “NY VFXWAALA” will be doing all the graphics and VFX related work for the movies. Currently, Ajay is busy shooting his upcoming movie “Golmaal 4”, post which he will be starting the work on this film. Ajay is confident that the movie will be a treat for kids and other 3-D movie lovers and it will also draw the attention of the movie buffs.
Incidentally, Rajkumar Santoshi is also making a film on the same topic. Rajkumar has named the movie as “Battle of Saragarhi” which stars Randeep Hooda. Randeep will also be playing the role of Havildar Ishar Sing in the movie.
Ajay Devgan had faced a similar issue with historical films quite a few years back as well when he was all set to release “The Legend of Bhagat Singh” in 2012. At the same time, Bobby Deol was also featuring in a film called “23rd March 1931: Shaheed” on the same subject. Ironically then, “The Legend of Bhagat Singh” was directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. So now the whole industry is eager to see which battle of Saragarhi dominates the box office in the coming year.
