The Renault Captur is a big introduction from the French automaker. The company does not have a vast line-up of cars in the Indian market. Hence, the Captur SUV will strengthen the Indian lineup more. The SUV will be placed beside the existing Duster SUV and will be competing against cars like the Ford EcoSport, Hyundai Creta and the upcoming Skoda Karoq (Skoda Yeti replacement).
The Renault Captur will come with a butch body, with enticing big wheel arches, muscular bumper and blacked roof. Under the hood, it is expected to come in two trim levels. The smaller 1.5-litre engine variant will be capable of producing 84 bhp power and 108 Nm of torque. The other 1.6-litre engine can make 102 bhp of power.
The Skoda Kodiaq is set to launch on the 4th of October 2017. It will be the first large SUV from Skoda (7-seater) and will be competing against the likes of Volkswagen Tiguan and the Jeep Compass. The Kodiaq SUV has a very refined exterior design, butterfly grille, sleek headlamps and roof rails.
Up at its heart, this large size SUV will have a 2-litre TDI engine producing a whopping 143 bhp of power, which seems to be same as the Octavia sedan. It is expected to be priced at around Rs. 25 lakhs to Rs. 28 lakhs, which would be at par with its competitors. This price band even brings it to the direct rivalry of the premium Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour.
Once launched, the Audi A5 will be one of few Cabriolets in the Indian market. The shoulder line is sharp and boldly accentuated. The Cabriolet holds similar interior layout than that of the A4 sedan but seems to have grown in size. Due to this, the knee room is increased by 24 mm while shoulder room has gone up by 11 mm.
The Audi A5 Cabriolet will come in two petrol variants and three diesel variants. However, the most powerful engine will be a 3.0-litre V6 engine, which will be capable of producing a maximum power 354 bhp. With this powerful engine, it will be able to hit and acceleration of 0-100 km/hr in just 4.7 seconds.
It will be a direct competitor to the Mercedes-Benz C300 Cabriolet.
Land Rover Range Rover Velar
The Land Rover Range Rover Velar is expected to be launched in India towards to the end of October or at the most during the early November. This model will be one of the most popular luxury SUVs to hit the market during this upcoming festive season. This SUV will be based on the company’s lightweight platform. It will be a notch higher in terms of road safety with the presence of features like pedestrian detection, autonomous emergency braking and adaptive speed limiter.
For the entry level variants, it will come with a 2.0-litre diesel and petrol engine. However, it will even come with bigger petrol and diesel engines with 3.0-litre V6 capacity. It will come to India via the CBU route and may have a slightly higher price tag than expected.
Mitsubishi is all set to launch the Outlander in India this festive season since the domestic market has shown great signs of becoming a potentially good destination for the said segment. Physically, the 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander features a sharper profile up front along with the expected addition of full LED headlamps. On the inside, the setting will get a premium appearance with leather upholstery, electric sunroof and dual-zone climate control.
As for the mechanism, the Mitsubishi Outlander will be given either a 2.0-litre engine or a bigger 2.4-litre engine with production of 150 bhp and 180 bhp respectively. It will have an AWD (all-wheel drive) drivetrain as standard.
It is expected to bear a price tag of around Rs. 18 lakhs to Rs. 25 lakhs, which would bring it to compete with cars like the new Jeep Compass and the Volkswagen Tiguan.
