Thought you’d seen the end of Samsung Galaxy Note 7? Think again, because the handset is making a return to the shelves soon. Although a couple of months back there were rumors of this sort that Samsung outright denied but now the company has opened up to the possibility.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is coming back!

With the company read to release the Samsung Galaxy S8, new surrounding the return of Note 7 has indeed taken people by surprise. Samsung has revealed its plan on getting the Note 7 on the market shelves. The process to that comes with three stages and the first stage involves rescuing the savable components such as camera modules and semiconductors. Then moving on, they’ll extract metals with the help of third-party companies and in the last stage, they’ll be selling the refurbished Note 7 to interested buyers.

Samsung made a statement to The Verge, in which the company told the publication:

“The objective of introducing refurbished devices is solely to reduce and minimize any environmental impact. The product details including the name, technical specification and price range will be announced when the device is available. Samsung will not be offering refurbished Galaxy Note 7 devices for rent or sale in the US.”

The handset was first made available in August of 2016. It comes with 5.70-inch touchscreen display with 1440 pixels by 2560 pixels resolution at a PPI of 518 pixels per inch. The Samsung Galaxy Note7 measures 153.50 x 73.90 x 7.90 and weighs 169.00 grams. It runs Android 6.0.1 and is powered by 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 8890 processor.

The handset comes with 4GB of Ram and 64GB internal memory that is expandable up to 256GB using the microSD card. It offers a 12-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel camera shooter for selfies. Backed by a 3500mAh non-removable battery, the handset offers connectivity options like 3G and 4G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, USB OTG, and sensor options like Barometer, Compass Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor, and Gyroscope.
