It looks like the Moto G5 is all set to get a new color variant. According to recent reports, new images that show off an upcoming Blue Sapphire variant of the smartphone have been leaked by a reputed source. The Moto G5 was announced back in February this year in two color variants- Lunar Grey, and Fine Gold. But going by these developments, we might be getting a new one before long.

The leaked renders were shared via social media by Roland Quandt. The pictures accompanying the tweet show off a smartphone that is unmistakably the Moto G5, but in a brilliant blue variant. The pictures showcase the front and back sides of the device and going by these, the smartphone will retain the black panel in front, while the “Blue Sapphire” color is evident at the back. Sadly, no word on when it will be made commercially available has been shared. However, it is expected that the pricing for the Moto G5 Blue Sapphire variant will remain the same as the other two.

Going purely be speculation, the company might formally introduce the new color option some time within the next few months. It is possible that the new variant will be kept exclusive to some markets, but until the makers issue an official announcement, nothing can be said for certain.

The Moto G5 smartphone has not made its way into the Indian markets yet, but its more premium sibling, the Moto G5 Plus, has been launched in the country as an online exclusive at the starting price of INR 14,999. The Moto G5, which could be launched in India soon, sports a 5-inch Full HD display along with a 13MP primary camera and a 5MP unit at the front. It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 430 chipset coupled with an Adreno 505 GPU with RAM options of 2GB and 3GB. The smartphone is backed by a 2800 mAh battery and runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
