The HR-V is a classic example of the crossover SUV and may be brought to the enormous domestic SUV market as part of Honda’s efforts to drive sales in the segment. Honda recently unveiled the Honda WR-V in India and it is a very decent car with quality exuding from every angle. The new Honda HR-V is said to have been envisioned to be built on the completely new vehicle platform by Honda. The Honda HR-V. File Image Honda HR-V Specs and Features The new Honda HR-V is a subcompact crossover SUV which spans two generations. The first generation HR-V, experts suggest, was based on the Honda Logo. The HR-V has a 1799 cc SOHC 16-valve inline-4 engine capable of belting out 141 hp @ 6500 rpm and a peak torque of 172 Nm@ 4300 rpm. The new Honda HR-V will have transmission options of a 6-speed manual as well as a very neat continuously variable automatic with manual shifting mode. In the last few years, the primary reason Honda lost traction is that it tended to focus too much on smaller cars like the Brio and the Amaze. The new Honda HR-V, when launched in India, will compete with some of the leading car manufacturers in India like the Tata Hexa, the Mahindra XUV 500, and the Toyota Innova. The HR-V will be positioned between the CR-V and the BR-V with the BR-V positioned above the BR-V. In addition to the Honda HR-V, the Civic is also being reintroduced in India. The Honda Civic will be pitted against the likes of the Toyota Corolla Altis and the Skoda Octavia. The new HR-V is said to be coming to India soon.
