Arriving Tomorrow: The Honda WR-V

The new sub-4-metre Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) from the Honda is the new Honda WR-V. The new WR-V, which is said to be an acronym for Winsome Runabout Vehicle and auto enthusiasts will know that the new WR-V has been produced specifically keeping the South American and the Indian market in the bullseye. First introduced at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show, the new SUV has been priced aggressively between Rs 7 and 10 lakhs. Pre-launch bookings for the new car have already started.

The new Honda WR-V

The new Honda WR-V is superior to the Honda Jazz and is said to be jazzier. We expect the fact to reflect even better when the new car comes to the general public and real-world rides begin. The new Honda WR-V is availab1.2-litre i-VTEC Petrol engine. This engine will spill out a solid 88.8bhp @ 6,000rpm. Expect a maximum torque output of 109Nm @ 4,500rpm. The diesel engine is the 1.5-litre i-DTEC Diesel engine with a maximum power output of 98.6bhp @ 3,600rpm, This engine has a maximum torque output is 200Nm @ 1,750rpm. Two transmission options on the new WR-V are expected. One will be a 5-speed Manual transmission while an optional 6-speed Manual & CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) are to be expected as well. Both the two engine variants are superb performers with excellent city and highway mileage. The 6-speed transmission will grace the diesel variant.

The new Honda WR-V is a very safe car as well. Since they are in the SUV segment, we expect to see wide tires with excellent braking services.Waterproof floor mats will add to the anti-skid interiors. Other class-leading safety features on the new SUV include Dual front airbags, ABS with EBD with a much-needed LED daytime running light system to aid on those foggy days. The new car will be priced within the price bracket of Rs 7 and 10 lakhs. The segment is currently dominated by older names like the Ford EcoSport, the Hyundai i20 Active, and the Maruti Suzuki Vitara.
