Audi is all set to launch the 2017 Audi Q5 in Australia next year, and the model will be followed by a 3.0 TDI model. Audi’s local dealership store in Australia confirmed the news today.
As per the information provided by the local dealer, the 2.0-liter version of the 2017 Audi Q5 will be available in Australia from the third quarter of the next year, 2017. The 3.0-liter TDI diesel variant of the car, which is going to be more powerful than the aforementioned 2017 Audi Q5 version, will be launched in the first quarter of 2018 in the same country.
Although the 2017 Audi Q5 launch date is all scheduled, there is still no news on the availability of the SQ5 edition. The German automobile manufacturer is planning for an SQ5 global launch. The much-anticipated car is currently under construction and will soon go into production. So there is no way the latest model of the Audi SQ5 will hit the dealership stores before 2018.
In the Audi Q5 2017 launch event, the journalists questioned the company engineers who were present at the event whether Audi has any plans to bring the SQ5 sooner due to its growing stature and popularity; the engineers remained tight-lipped and said they had very little information to share as an official confirmation is yet to be made.
The Head of Powertrain Design at Audi AG, Rolf Kronstorfer, stated, “The model is immensely popular around the world and it would be a crazy decision to not make the SQ5. While we can’t confirm it immediately, I can say that it will take place at some point in time. I am not sure if a RSQ5 would work.”
Talking about the 2017 Audi Q5 series price, Shaun Cleary, the product communication manager of the company assured that the buyers wouldn’t get shocked by the price of the 2017 Audi Q5 will be on par with the expected range. The price of the upcoming model will be almost same as the existing variant, and thus it will easy for the buyers to upgrade their models. Moreover, the company will offer a range of option packages which make it convenient for the buyers for what they actually need. So Audi has decided to keep the price of the basic model low and if they want to have the luxury packages, they have to pay more.
