Lords of the Fallen 2 was announced back in 2014 itself, barely two months after Lords of the Fallen saw its release. Since then the development of Lords of the Fallen 2‘s development has seen a couple of bumps in the way. Though the originally set release date has not been officially postponed yet, creative differences that have plagued the team are bound to have their reflections in the overall process. Lords of the Fallen 2 Announcement and Delay After a December 2014 announcement, Lords of the Fallen 2 was assumed to begin production within the first half of 2015. But disagreements within the creative camp eventually caused a fallout to occur in the middle of the process. In July 2015, Tomasz Gop was dropped from the position of the game’s executive producer to be replaced by Paul Robinson. CI Games told EuroGamer, “We’re grateful for his input, but we have different visions for further development of the series and Tomasz will not be a part of CI Games’ progress. We want to reach a wider audience for this game. That’s why we’re building a richer story. We’re aware that these aspects could’ve been better in the first game, so the story is a big point of the sequel, along with robust fighting system. We want to bring something fresh to RPG games.” Lords of the Fallen 2 Gameplay Features Lords of the Fallen 2, like its predecessor, will be a third person perspective RPG. Lords of the Fallen followed the story of Harkyn, a convicted criminal whose sins were etched onto his face in the form of runes. Harkyn was released from prison by a monk in a bid to put up a fight against the ancient god Adyr’s forces. The game offered a number of choices in terms of both combat styles and its weapons. The main story of the game was divided into several acts, with new areas opening up as the player makes progress. Each new area had its own unique intrigues, like separate paths leading to different places, or hidden locations and secrets waiting to be uncovered. It is not known if Lords of the Fallen 2 will take Harkyn’s story forward, or if it will have a completely different protagonist. Whatever be the case, it is expected to retain its mythical backbones. Alongside that, several of the previous game’s winning features may also be brought back, like the checkpoint system that helped players in upgrading the main playable character, and the class system that allowed players to form their own based on their choices combining magic, armours, and abilities. However, it is to be kept in mind that the last game’s developer, Deck13 Interactive, is not working on Lords of the Fallen 2, so things may ultimately be very different from what we are expecting. Lords of the Fallen 2 Release Date Lords of the Fallen 2 is scheduled for release sometime in 2017. It will most likely be built for the Windows PC, Xbox One, and PS4. It is not yet known if there will be a delay in the game’s expected launch.
