Big Dog was founded in 1994 for building high-performance on-road cruisers and choppers. Now the brand has tied up with Big Motorcycle Company, the Indian bike manufacturer to start its journey in India with its K9 Red chopper. Powered by an 1807cc, 45-degree V-twin from S&S Superslider, and has mated to Jim’s 6-speed transmission. The suspension up front is a 41mm telescopic fork that can release the custom-made, chopper feel in the motorcycle. the seat of this customised bike height is pretty low at 244 mm. Braking duties are responsible for a 4-piston differential bore single disc brake at the front and a 4-piston standard bore single disc brake at the rear, both sourced from Performance Machine. The front tyre is an MH90-21 56V while the rear is a massive 250/40VR18 (81V) and it has been sourced from COBRA. The K9 Red chopper – 111 is ‘One of One’ built under the guidance of Kansas Motor Works (KMW). BMC has promised that these custom choppers are unique as no two motorcycles will be the same in India. Among the customising options, Big Dog offers at least 69 paint and graphic options and a wide selection of accessories, including custom seats, exhausts, grips, storage bags, sissy bars and windshields. Priced at Rs 59 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) plus taxes these custom bikes are indeed costly.
