The anime version based on the novels have been highly praised by critics, who have compared it with Reki Kawahara’s other work, Sword Art Online, but with better etched out characters. However, he excels at playing squash at the school’s virtual world network where his scores remain unbeaten until Kuroyukihime, one of the most popular girls at school, comes along. She introduces Haru to Brain Burst, a virtual role playing gaming program which engulfs its players into its virtual platform, and at the same time, accelerates the brain’s activities immeasurably. Burst Linkers, or gamers within Brain Burst, must battle each other for points which can then be redeemed for acceleration points. Being indebted to Kuroyukihime for putting an end to his painful days of being bullied, Haru decides to team up with her to help her win the coveted Level 10 of Brain Burst under his virtual identity of Silver Crow. However, there is a flipside to the game. If a player’s score goes down to nil, the game is erased forever. But successful advancements will reward them with added experience along with new powers and opportunities within Brain Burst. Accel World, Season 2 Release Date: The anime series was continued for 24 episodes which spanned the first four volumes of the novel, which left the series open-ended.
