Currently, the salary of President of India (Pranab Mukherjee) is up to Rs. 1 lakh which is less than that some of the higher dignitaries posted in government sectors. So, taking the situation into consideration, Union Cabinet has decided to announce major additions. president’s salary is most likely to increase up to two times of the present salary. A man counts money to pay bonus or salaries which have been raised as per 7th Pay Commission. Apparently, the day before yesterday a meeting was held between senior government officials and central government employees union leaders over the hike in their minimum wage. The meeting included Additional Secretary, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance as well as Standing Committee of National Council Staff Side along with Secretary NJCA Shiv Gopal Mishra. He urged Union Cabinet hike the minimum pay of Rs. 18,000 for central government employees. The Union Home Minister also included in his statement that central government employees pleading to hike their wages should take a look at President’s salary which is lesser than nation’s topmost bureaucrats. However, now the Centre is working on to revise the salary of President, Vice-President and Governors through the 7th Pay Commission. As of now, President gets Rs. 1.50 lakhs/month, Vice-President gets Rs. 1.25 lakhs wherein State Governor receives Rs. 1.10 lakhs as salaries. Moreover, after the implementation of 7th Pay Commission from September-October, salary of Cabinet Secretary (topmost bureaucrat) is getting Rs. 2.5 lakhs per months whereas Secretary of Union Government receives a paycheck of Rs. 2.25 lakhs per month. So, with taking a keen interest in this matter, Union Cabinet has decided to remove the anomalies thus making changes in the present emoluments. At present, it is being said that the revised salary of President under the 7th Pay Commission would be Rs. 5 lakhs whereas salary of Vice-President salary would be Rs. 3.5 lakhs. along with several governors of States. Also, the Union Cabinet have decided to not to revise the pensions of Former Presidents, Spouses of deceased Presidents, former Vice-Presidents, spouses of deceased VPs and former Governors. After the cabinet gives a nod, the revised salaries of President and Vice-president will be discussed in the Parliament during the Winter Session starting from mid of November.
