Nevertheless, Radhika Apte, Tannishtha Chatterjee and Surveen Chawla are the main focus of Parched. And the storyline revolves around how these women break free from the hardships that they go through everyday. The plot of ‘Parched.’ Leena Yadav directed Parched is produced under the banner of Ajay Devgan FFilms. And it revolves around the lives of three women named as Rani, Lajjo and Bijli (Tannishtha Chatterjee, Radhika Apte and Surveen Chawla). Rani got married at a very early age. However, she lost her husband later and living a life of a widow has been really tough for her as she had to go through immense ups and downs. On the other hand, Lajjo is treated as a sheer victim of domestic violence as her alcoholic husband vents off all his frustration on Lajjo by beating her up in a terrifying way almost everyday. While Bijli does proper justice to her name as she is the centre of attraction for all the men of the village. Her erotic self makes the men go head over heels for her, as she satisfies their sexual desires. However, somewhere in between the life which is led by these three women have made them reach their saturation point and urges them to have the quest for a peaceful life with the ultimate freedom. Right from forceful child marriages, marital rapes to domestic violence Rani, Lajjo and Bijli have witnessed and experienced it all. Bijli might satisfy the sexual desires of the men of the village, somewhere even she wants to break free from this life. Nevertheless, when these three women come to know about the agonies of each others’ lives, they get an urge to follow the path of peace and freedom.
