Sushant Singh Rajput’s portrayal of the cricketer from Jharkhand is as good as anyone who could have played Dhoni. The skipper’s journey to become one of the top captains in the history of cricket is the highlight of the movie, something which will be a definite delight for MSD fans and cricket fans alike. The Neeraj Pandey directed venture, distributed by Fox Star Studios and produced by Inspired Entertainment and Arun Pandey, in association with Friday Film Works is already pegged to be one of the highest earning films of the year and the first Biopic in Bollywood to pose a threat to the box-office records of commercial film genre of Bollywood. The movie has been released all over India dubbed in multiple regional languages like Tamil and Telugu on public demand owing to the fact that an enormous amount of people are waiting for the movie to release which is also slated to make it the widest release for any Indian film in India and internationally.M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story : Plot SynopsisM.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story revolves around the untold incidences which occurred in the life of M.S Dhoni, a budding cricketer from Ranchi, before he started playing for India and follows his journey in which he became the most successful captain in the history of Indian Cricket. The biographical film is about the hardships he had to face that we previously did not know about, the amount of hard work he incorporated and also a completely different side of Dhoni as opposed to the calm and collected block of efficient ice we see on the field. Dhoni’s conflict in his early age between the role of an emerging cricketer and a Railway ticket collector at Kharagpur Station was clearly highlighted and his struggle to his follow his ambition was the main highlight of this 190-minute film.M.S. Dhoni : The Untold Story (2016) : ReviewM.S. Dhoni Acting ReviewEven before the release of the movie, Sushant Singh Rajput’s casting as Dhoni had been met with a huge amount of critical acclaim for his role in the movie, with many in the industry pegging him to be the best possible choice in the film industry to play the Indian skipper. Rajput’s familiarity with the game was a plus as he delivered a stellar performance, perhaps the most significant one of his career. Though his throwing of dialogues was a bit different from Dhoni’s in real life, he more than made up for it with a brilliant display of acting in the portrayal of India’s captain cool and the only person who could have done it better was MSD himself. Also, Anupam Kher’s strong screen presence as Pan Singh, Dhoni’s father added to what was a very good overall acting package without the presence of any antagonistic roles.M.S Dhoni: the Untold Story (2016) Direction ReviewNeeraj Pandey had complete faith from entire industry to deliver this huge movie to the audience and he did. The movie’s direction could have been better but we have nothing to complain about at all. The in-field sequences were brilliantly shot as well as the dialogues which seemed quite appropriate for anyone who is already familiar with some part of Dhoni’s journey forward. We, could not have been pleased more as Pandey delivered what was expected of him and the movie has become our favourite Biopic ever to emerge from Bollywood.M.S. Dhoni : The Untold Story RatingCritics Rating: 4.2 out of 5Audience Rating: 4.7 out of 5Direction: 4.7 out of 5Music Score: 3.8 out of 5Acting: 4.8 out of 5M.S Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016) : Final VerdictDhoni, for us, is a household name and when saying this, we are speaking on behalf of millions of people in the country and also outside of it. To know the story of the very person who has garnered millions of fans of himself just by doing something he is passionate about, is something every person will look forward to irrespective of whether he or she is a cricket follower or not. Neeraj Pandey and Sushant Singh Rajput have stolen hearts trying to put forward this story for us and even though the runtime of 190 minutes would normally feel like a drab for most movies, this one was far from it. M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story is a must watch for every single in the person as it is an immediate reminder to people that there is nothing which can be deemed impossible in life if one works hard enough to achieve it. The movie will get you close to Dhoni like never before and it will be with you every time you watch him go onto the field, take his stance and blast the ball out of the park “Classic Dhoni Style”.
