The enterprise wants more information regarding navigation and mapping technologies which include more data on traffic pattern as well as precisely located pickup and drop areas. It has already launched mapping driven cars in the U.S., Mexico, and now plans to enter the Indian market. The current mapping technology is so important that it is ready to invest huge amounts thus discontinuing dependence on Google mapping. At present Uber app uses the same navigating source which undoubtedly paves a way for driverless cars. Uber wouldn’t exist if interactive digital maps hadn’t been there first. The respective car-hailing giants have raised funds worth $3.5 billion, which is trying best to increase productivity with new research and expanding invariably towards a new market. Google was earlier a seasoned investor in Uber, but it chose to adopt new methods of aggregating technologies which would eventually help in the self-drive cars navigating system. The acquisition took place in March in the fiscal year 2015-16. Other than this, it has acquired Microsoft’s BingMaps, along with hiring 100 employees working on image collection and data analysis from Microsoft Inc. The main loophole that comes from Google mapping is it’s abrupt and irrelevant information like Ocean Topography provided by them. As of now, Uber primary concern is to provide detailed information in those part of the world where there aren’t any proper maps or street signs. Its willingness to provide a seamless experience is the sole concern of Uber Inc.
