During the elections, we saw that the B.J.P leader and contestant Roopa Ganguly got entangled in a clash against the Trinamool Congress Workers and the voters too. Just after the elections are over, the lady got attacked by some goons who are allegedly Trinamool workers. The attack happened while she was returning from a village in Diamond Harbour after meeting some of the post poll attack victims. Some people manhandled her and damaged her vehicle. She had been admitted to a district hospital. She had minor injuries but the doctors said that she is out of danger now. Roopa Ganguly had contested the State Assembly Elections from the Howrah (North) constituency against the Trinamool Congress winner Lakshmi Ratan Shukla. On the day of the polls also she got entangled in controversies due to allegedly slapping a voter. Charges were filed against Ganguly, but bailable. This not just one attack. Violence has been prevailing over West Bengal since the declaration of the results. The residence of the C.P.I.M contestant Shatarup Ghosh, who participated from Kasba against Trinammol’s Javed Khan was also attacked on Saturday at around 12:30 a.m by some bikers. Stones were hurled at his residence. Apart from this, the local workers are also under high threat. Places like Canning, Howrah, etc are common, but an unusual and striking violence was raised at Kamarhati too. At Kamarhati the followers of Madan Mitra went on to do protest against the workers of Trinamool itself for the defeat of Mitra. Attack on Roopa Ganguly is not going to be very light because speculations were being made by the critic that B.J.P is supporting T.M.C secretly. So, after the attack it is to be seen that which way the understanding goes.
