Skoda Rapid, another upcoming entry in Indian auto market for the higher middle-class section of the country recently spotted testing in Lonavala in Pune. The car is expected to be launched in India later this year during the festive season to be more specific in Dewali. The spy photography revealed the front part of the car, and it is very similar to a mini-Octavia from its frontal side. It is expected that the car is powered by the same engines that they are using for the current Skoda Rapid. Skoda Rapid has a great number of the rival car manufacturers, like Volkswagen Vento, Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Fluidic Verna 4S, Ford Fiesta, Fiat Linea, Nissan Sunny and the Renault Scala.

Skoda India has not revealed anything about the engine specifications for its renewed version. Even the interiors have a few small updates. The price of the car varies from 8 to 13 lakhs. The first Skoda Rapid launched in 2011. The features of the car are not explicitly stated yet and waiting for its official launch. But still, the sources have got some of the information. The Skoda Rapid has a 1.6-litre petrol engine that is capable of producing 103bhp of maximum power and 153Nm of peak torque. The newly redesigned hood gets a little hump a 5-speed manual gearbox. It also comes with the variants along a 6-speed DSG transmission.

Some of the other most important added features are flat-bottom steering wheel and new infotainment system, along with cruise control, auto climate control, front centre armrest, Mirror Link system and retractable and foldable ORVMs. It is expected that the new facelift of the car will enhance the business and will give tough competition to the current competitors. But to know that we will have to wait till 2017 Dewali.
