Hollywood News More Terminator Films to Come, Franchise Not Dead By Maurice FabNewz Posted on March 23, 2017 We thought the Terminator franchise is done for good, but that’s not true. Skydance, one of the studios involved with the making of Terminator Genisys has come ahead reassuring fans that the franchise is not dead. Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator: Rise of the Machines (2003) Not just that, the studio has managed to develop something really good in the form of future Terminator film and on top of all this, there is an announcement due later this year. Skydance’s David Ellison spoke to Collider and said: “I will say we have resolved the future of the franchise and believe me its an incredibly bright future. I think where it’s going will be the continuation of what the fans really wanted since T2. We have something this year that we will be announcing for the franchise. It’s something we’re incredibly excited about and we think is the direction it needs to head.” It looks like Terminator 6 is not happening after all, but we are still going to get a Terminator film. We are hoping plans for the future Terminator will be revealed later this year along with the cast and crew. Since both Arnold Schwarzenegger and Emilia Clarke has spoken out about being uninterested in reprising their roles in future Terminator films, I don’t know how these guys are going to retain the interest and loyalty of Terminator fans. Earlier this year we heard that James Cameron could be coming on board the Terminator 6, but of course, one can’t possibly expect the director to be involved with Avatar (the project he’s working on) and Terminator. With Cameron out of the list, we wonder who’ll be responsible for bringing Terminator’s glory day back. Also if the next films are directly related to Terminator 2: Judgment Day, how are they going to manage without Arnold Schwarzenegger on-board. These and many moe questions remain to be answered.
