Business News Jio Unveils New Prime Membership Plans: Here’s How To Avail Before Time Runs Out By Maurice FabNewz Posted on March 23, 2017 Reliance Jio is on a roll. It has launched a new offer which will start functioning once the Happy New Year offer runs out on March 31. Tech and business enthusiasts will recall that Reliance Jio had extended its free data and voice plans until the end of this month. Jio today announced its offers for service starting April 1, when the free offers are no longer valid. Rel-Jio had also rolled out its new Jio Prime Membership plans from March 1 to ensure that customers did not migrate top other networks once the freebies end. Jio’s new plans The new offer will be over and above the Jio Prime Membership plan. This plan entails that you have to pay a one-time subscription fee of Rs 99. The Jio Prime Membership has to be recharged with Rs 303 every month. This will ensure that Jio’s 4G services and other media services last for a full year. Today’s announcement by Reliance Jio is based on its Jio Money application. If you recharge using the Jio Money app, you will also get a Rs 50 cashback on every recharge. When you recharge the initial Prime Membership fee, you also need to recharge your number with Rs 303 for the monthly charges. However, if you recharge your number with another number using the Jio Money app, you will get a Rs 50 cashback once again. When taken in aggregate, you are essentially getting back Rs 100 (50+50) as cashback, which covers the Rs 99 you need to shell out to be a member of the Jio Prime plan. In effect, neither the customer nor the service provider, jio in this instance, loses in this new deal. Like the ‘Happy New Year’ offer which expires on March 31, the Prime membership gives users a FUP (Fair Usage Policy) limit of 1GB data for each day, which means that users can avail 30GB for 30 days. The Rs 303 charge every month also means that the mean cost per day is Rs 10 every day. The last date for enrolling with this Jio Prime membership programme is March 31. A consumer still not with R-Jio can hop on to the network before March 31 in order to subscribe to the Jio Prime policy.
